JUSTICE FOR JOSH
Justice for Josh was a media campaign started in 2020 in the wake of the Black Lives Matter revolution. Aimed to raise awareness and give justice to Joshua Ruffin, a 17 year old boy murdered by the Columbia Police officer, Kevin Davis. I carefully worked with the family of Josh, namely his father, Daryl Timmons, to carefully share his story, the aftermath, and a call to action to make sure this doesn't happen again in the future.

Interviews with the family
This is a news piece I worked on with Finn Carlin for News4 at University of South Carolina. We attended press conferences, protests, and spoke to the family to produce the story. Filmed and edited by me.
Community outreach
With the Justice for Josh campaign, I worked closely with the father Daryl Timmons to organize community outreach events. We planned and carried out "Drive for Josh". A caravan of loved ones, supporters, and friends to drive the path that Josh took the day he was murdered to his grave where we gave our respects and the parents made speeches. Filmed and edited by me, featuring an original song made by Josh's uncle.
Memorial Videos
Filmed at the balloon release memorial for Joshua Ruffin on his first birthday since passing. He would have been 18 years old. This video features his friends and family, including a heart felt speech by his mother and Dr. Candace Brewer, founder of an anti-gun violence organization.
